Where to find Blade of Mercy in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

Blade of Mercy is something you can find very early on in Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC — if you know where to look.

It’s a talisman that raises attack power after each critical hit, making it useful for anyone with a playstyle or build centered around critical attacks, especially as — like anything else you’ll find in the DLC — you can take it back to the main game to tick off anything you’ve missed in the Lands Between.

Our Elden Ring guide explains where to find the Blade of Mercy location in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

Where to find the Blade of Mercy location

To find the Blade of Mercy in the Elden Ring DLC, you’ll want to visit the Scorched Ruins, which is the very first settlement you’ll encounter in the opening Gravesite Plain area.

Approach the Ruins from the south via the road that cuts through the settlement, and just before you go through the archway and out the other side, go left into the settlement and through an opening surrounded by rubble, where you’ll find a staircase.

Go up the stairs, out to the balcony, and through the destroyed wall above where two enemies are waiting.

Vanquish them or run past them — it’s up to you — and climb another set of steps to emerge outside again.

Run straight ahead, across the roof covered in cloth, and enter the doorway to your left.

Open the door, and inside will be a chest containing the Blade of Mercy.

From here, if you haven’t already, you’re just a stone’s throw away from the Gravesite Plain map fragment. Our what to do first guide can otherwise explain other nearby points of interest — including Scadutree Fragments, DLC armor, and DLC weapons, and an encounter with an optional boss, the Blackgaol Knight.
